My wife and I needed a buyer agent. Based on prayer, Google reviews and Indy Home Pro agent reviews, we selected Rene Hauck as our realtor. We live in Colorado and would be doing everything remote. We accomplished the entire process through Zoom, phone calls, texts, and email. We even did the closing remotely. We knew that the market was crazy and that not only was there a shortage of homes for sale, but it seemed like investors were buying up everything in sight in our price range. We prayed and asked the Lord to hide a house for us and to help all of us recognize it when it came up for sale. We were looking for a 3 bedroom 1.5+ bath house reasonably put together. Every home we found was basically an auction – make your best offer and include an appraisal gap or forget it. We were determined not to get into an auction. Viewing homes remotely over Zoom worked okay. Rene showed us everything she thought we needed to see and anything we asked her to show us. We did not like having to do it this way; however, it worked out for us. After putting in several offers with no success, Rene gently told us that either we were going to have to come up with an appraisal gap or find a house that needed more repairs and therefore was not as appealing. While trying to follow her advise and look for homes still on the market 4 days + Rene found a home for us to look at. The listing had a small error which worked in our favor. She scheduled a showing and found out that no offers had been put on it. We offered the list price, and Rene gave them only a few hours to decide. Our offer was accepted. Then the roller coaster ride began. The home inspection revealed some issues that we needed to be addressed which were not disclosed. We were ready to bolt, and Rene talked us through our options and explained the consequences of our different choices. We chose to trust her and her experience to look out for us and our best interests. When all the dust settled, we purchased a nice 3 bedroom/2 bath home in a nice neighborhood for under $200k – truly a miracle! Without Rene and her remaining calm and gently leading us forward toward the closing, I’m not sure we would have made it.
